- Lighting for Tomorrow 2012 Competition Announced, January 19, 2012. Lighting for Tomorrow is celebrating its tenth year of cultivating innovation in lighting and light sources by launching its newest intertational competition in 2012. For the first time, retrofit kits will be included in the competition. Lighting for Tomorrow will also continue to build on the momentum from previous competitions for lighting control products including stand-alone, system-based and whole house devices as well as SSL fixtures for specific applications and replacement lamps. This international lighting design competition officially launches at the Dallas Market, January 19-23.
- 2011 Lighting for Tomorrow Winners, September 13, 2011. The ninth annual Lighting for Tomorrow competition challenged manufacturers to continue to improve their design of Solid-State Lighting (SSL) fixtures and enter high-quality light emitting diode (LED) replacement lamps that would meet consumers’ expectations. And for the second time, Lighting for Tomorrow invited lighting control manufacturers to enter lighting control devices with the requirement that they be compatible with energy efficient technologies, such as fluorescent and LEDs.
- Lighting for Tomorrow Announces a New Partner, September 1, 2011. A familiar name in the residential lighting industry, UL joins long time partners American Lighting Association (ALA) and the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) as an organizer for the Lighting for Tomorrow energy efficient lighting design competition.
- 2011 Lighting for Tomorrow Competition, January 20, 2010. Lighting for Tomorrow is continuing to look at lighting control products including stand-alone, system-based, and whole house devices. Similar to last year, the 2011 lighting is seeking lighting control devices that are compatible with fluorescent or LED technology. The 2011 SSL competition is open to a broad range of residential lighting applications including a variety of fixture types and replacement lamps.
