The industry's first slide dimmer specifically designed for use with a variety of dimmable compact fluorescent lamps, the Decora® CFL Slide Dimmer optimizes the performance of dimmable CFLs and works with the widest range of dimmable CFLs currently on the market. In auto mode, the dimmer detects whether the lamp is an incandescent or a dimmable CFL, determines high- and low-end dimming ability and adjusts the dimming range accordingly. This is important as dimming varies by lamp manufacturer, lamp type and rating. Previously, most dimmers were designed to control only incandescent lamps and very few types could operate dimmable CFLs.
