Lighting for Tomorrow 2010 Winners
Lighting for Tomorrow congratulates the winners of the 2010 competition! The winners of the Solid State Lighting Competition were selected by a panel of expert judges based on color appearance, color rendering, amount and distribution of light, overall aesthetic appearance, and application efficiency. The winners of the Lighting Controls Competition were selected on the basis of functionality, value, ease of installation, ease of use, innovation, ability to interface with other systems, and adaptability to existing luminaires.

Solid State Lighting Competition
Thirty-three companies submitted SSL fixtures, and six received some type of recognition. Four winners were selected including past winner, Kichler Lighting received two awards, one for its Design Pro LED Broad Roof LED Path & Spread Light and the other for its Design Pro LED Modular and Disc System. Edge Lighting also received two awards for its Scope LED Pendant and Scope LED Monorail/Track Light. The remaining manufacturers received honorable mentions for their entries. Colorado-based Albeo Technologies Inc. with its Agito – Intelligent Task Light and Blackstone International Ltd. for its Sunter Architect LED Desk Lamp. Past winner, Cree LED Lighting also received an honorable mention for their CR6™ Downlight. Twelve companies submitted LED replacement lamps, and the selected winner was Philips Lighting for its EnduraLED A19 Lamp.
Lighting Controls Competition
Of the five companies that competed in the new lighting controls competition, three different manufacturers were recognized. Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc. received an award for the Decora® CFL Slide Dimmer. Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. also received an award for the Radio Powr Savr™ Occupancy/Vacancy Sensor with Maestro Wireless® Switch and Legrand/ Pass & Seymour was recognized for the RT1 7-Button Timer.
